Central Baptist Church welcomes our new Pastor!

Dr. James Woodley was born and raised in Northern California. He accepted Christ as His Savior in the summer of 1971. He was called into full time Christian ministry in December 1971. He was licensed to preach at Grace Baptist Church in Chico, CA where he met and married his wife, Jane. He was ordained at Calvary Baptist Church in Paradise, CA in 1988. Over the years he has served in a variety of ministries in the local church: bus ministry, children's church, Sunday School teacher (all ages), jail ministry, and wherever needed. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from CSU Chico, CA, Master of Divinity from Northwest Baptist Seminary in Tacoma, WA and a Doctor of Theology from Salt Lake Baptist College in Salt Lake City, UT. In addition, he has attended Christian Law Association Legal Training Seminars, Pastor's and Leaderhsip Conferences at North Valley Baptist Church, Pensacola Christian College, and Lancaster Baptist Church. He has experience teaching and administrating in Christian schools as well as in a Bible College. He was senior pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Twin Falls, ID for 11 years. For the past year, he served as the Executive Vice President at Florida Baptist College in Tampa, FL.

Dr. Woodley and his wife Jane have been married 30 years and are the parents of Daniel, Susannah, Elisabeth, Carolyn, and Melinda. Their son Matthew went home to be with the Lord in 2006. Their daughter Elisabeth is married. Carolyn and Melinda are seniors in High School.  Daniel is living at home and seeking God's will for his life.
