Information on Gotcher home page http://www.wsu.edu:8080/~giles/gotcher/gotcher.htm shows WILLIAM GOTCHER born before 1770 & MARY born about 1767 in Virginia. It shows they married before 1787 & were the parents of James Gotcher who married Mary Nancy Arlege. The reference given is A History of the James Gotcher Family by Emison. The descendants of James Gotcher believe this is incorrect. -------- Information Pat Norton found in her aunt’s papers said "William Gotcher of 1797. He was a doctor and lived in Tennessee and also had a son born in Tennessee. His wife was Mary Ann Box and she was a beautiful woman and had light curly hair and blue eyes." The page also showed that William’s brother was James who was killed by the Indians in Lee County Texas in 1837. It showed their parents to be ________ GOTCHER (1770) m. ___________ MALONE. And says her father was a Dr.
